| 4Hers from all counties are welcome and encouraged to attend classes at SitStay.
Kids with dogs who are new to training would go into the 7pm Pup & Beginner class. Its a session class which runs for 8 weeks and pre registration is required!
Another option is our drop in class at 8:00pm which runs most Wednesdays year round. Dogs must have good "leave it" skills and have a basic knowledge of heeling skills.
Be sure to check the calendar link to be sure of class dates!
Class cost for junior handlers (4Hers) is $5.00 per night.
All children MUST be accompanied by an adult; no drop offs, no exceptions :-)
Please Note:
Although I DO WANT the kids in class, as a Mom its important to me that each child can tell me honestly that their school homework is DONE before they come to the late evening class.
They will be asked, in front of their peers and parents!

Kane County 4Hers Dog Show
The 4Her's dog show IS part of the fair, but due to the need for a lot of space to conduct the show, its usually held a few weeks before the actual fair.
Remember to bring proof of rabies vax and proof of training classes attended.
No prong collars!
Here's what your child should expect in the show ring for obedience.
Beginner I (for inexperienced handlers & inexperienced dogs). All exercises done on leash. Heal on leash and figure 8, stand for exam, recall, long sit (1 min), long down (3 min). Long sits & downs will be judged as a group. Leashes will be laid of floor for sits & downs.
Beginner II (for experienced handlers with inexperienced dogs OR experienced dogs with inexperienced handlers). All exercises are done on leash. Heal on leash & figure 8, stand for exam, recall, long sit (1 min) long down (3 min). Long sits & downs will be judged as a group. Leashes will be laid on floor for sits & downs.
(the difference between Beginner I & II is that that judge knows that the Beg II exhibitor has had some experience at this and expectations will be a little bit higher)
Graduate Beginner: Heel on leash & figure 8, stand for exam of leash, recall off leash, long sit (1 min), long down (3 min). Long sits and downs will be judged as a group. For long sits and downs the leash will be off the dog and handlers will be across the ring.
Novice: Heel on leash and figure 8, stand for exam off leash, heel off leash, recall off leash. Long sit (1 min), long down (3 min). Long sits and downs will be judged as a group. For long sits and downs leash will be off dog and handlers across the ring.
Advanced Novice: Heel on leash, stand for exam off leash, heel & figure 8 off leash, drop on recall, long sit (3 min handler out of sight), long down (5 min handler out of sight). Long sits & downs judged as a group.
PreOpen: Heel on leash, figure 8 off leash, drop on recall, dumbell recall, recall over high jump, recall over broad jump, long down (3 min handler out of sight) Long down judged as a group.
Open: Heel & figure 8 off leash, drop on recall, retrieve on flat, retrieve over high jump, broad jump, long sit (3 min handler out of sight), long down (5 min handler out of sight). Sits & downs judged as a group.
